It is not easy to dream, not to talk of birthing that dream. Dreamers are lonely, simply because they are the owner of the dream, if a dreamer chase that dream, soon others will follow suit. One of my past experiences, had made me believe that some people are just jealous of that ability and grace that God has bestowed on you and I will like to share it with you. I know that it will meet your need at an exact point in time that you needed this.
Some years ago, when I still coordinates a life performance drama on campuses in Nigeria. The event of one of the programs ended with a great lesson for me to learn at the point of tears after a glorious success.
At the same school where I graduated from, where I was one of the well known drama coordinators, where during our time, we were of them that are so deep into the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ. After two years of graduation, I and my crew returned to the school with a life performance drama, the plan had commenced and we were set to use the town hall of the community, we received the favor from the people of the town and publicity was about to begin, the student joint fellowship of that campus were informed, after all, I was part of such a group when I was a student there, but the coordinator of all campus’ drama unit informed others that they will not support the program because it was not in the name of the Joint drama unit so it was Anti-‘their name’ but I thank God it was not Anti-Christ.
The publicity were limited but we continued, the town was a small town that information could have spread easily. More than a hundred of student were in attendant, to us the program was a huge success, considering the late feedback that we received from General Christian Drama Coordinator of that campus, the arm that could have headed the publicity for Dramatic Revolution as the program was tagged but a sad news wounded my heart so greatly, a student hanged himself to death on that campus, for the first time in the history of that school. What made it worst for me was that the story of that act that day was all about hope. I strongly believe that if that student heard about the program, he will attend because every student loves such a show and if he attended, he will change his mind and could as well be alive today. A life was lost, just because of the ego of the drama coordinator then and after graduation he returned to being a normal student because being a drama coordinator then was just a campus thing not a total call from God but the occurrence taught me that there are a lot of people out there that are waiting for the grace that God as entrusted into my hand and I will keep chasing it, looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.
If you are reading this and you at the cross road of motivation, I will like you to know that sometimes in life when you start something, some people will fight it and give you reason why you should stop, they might even spread bad rumors about you or they will go as far as attacking your dream based on your past. I wonder if there is any of those pointing fingers that can say that their present is crystal clear when it comes to plainness, not to talk of their past.
Stop fighting the war that is not yours, if God doesn’t call a man. Let him be his judge and if you are so sure (i.e God has spoken to you and not what men says) that that call is a fake, talk to such a fellow face to face instead of wasting your time in tarnishing his name. Such an attitude is a free ride to hell and the dangerous thing is that you don’t even know that you on that road to place of no return.
New International Version (NIV)
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
